Jerry Guarino's writing reminds me of the late, but great, Jose Saramago's. His structure is both unique and compelling, always leading the reader to places that they never see coming. I applaud anyone who takes risks in their writing, and Jerry does just that.
scissors and spackle was lucky enough to get a hold of one of Jerry's stories for our debut edition, his words and work a welcome reprieve from the often all too serious world of contemporary literature.
What Jerry has achieved with The Devil's Orchestra is a harmonious blend of comedy and damn good writing, no small feat. The stories in this collection take the reader on journeys chock full of surprising and delightful twists.
